Attorney Sam Shihab has more than 20 years of expertise in US immigration law with special focus on representing engineering, information technology, health care, and other corporate clients. He counsels them on issues related to immigration, corporate compliance, Visa filings and audits. He also represents foreign entrepreneurs and investors before USCIS and the US Department of State.
Sam founded his first law firm in 1995, which was primarily focused on immigration law. Today Sam Shihab & Associates, founded in 2010, practices exclusively in employment-based US immigration law with a reputation for high-quality representation and service to its clients.
Sam obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from Capital University in 1994. Prior to earning his law degree, he received a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from The Ohio State University in 1984. Sam is a member of the Ohio Bar. He has also been admitted to the US Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit, the US Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, the District of Columbia, the Eastern District of Michigan, and the US Supreme Court.
Sam is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Columbus Bar Association. He is a frequent presenter at the Ohio Bar Association lecturing on Immigration law, Corporate Compliance and Employment-Based Immigration Law. His prior years of experience as an Engineer, and as an Instrument Rated Pilot, has taught Sam the importance of attention to detail and the presence of mind in his day-to-day immigration law practice.
Sam has received a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating, awarded only to the lawyers with the highest ethical standards and professional ability.
Outside the practice, when not in the office or taking care of his clients, Sam would either spend time with his two daughters helping with their homework or on his bicycle looking for the most scenic route and adventure.
